The fresh flowers that have been air shipped directly to you from PCORCHIDS.com will retain their beauty by observing a few simple care tips.
For
orchids:
1) Remove water vials and immerse the entire stem, including flowers, in
cool room temperature water for 5-10 minutes. This process will revitalize the flowers. 2) Partially fill (approx. ½ to ¾ full) the vase you will use with
fresh, cool room temperature water. Add flower food to the water while filling the vase. 3) Trim ½" from each flower stem, and arrange the flowers in the
vase. 4) For maximum life, change the water every 2-3 days, re-cutting flower
stems each time. 5) Orchids are unique and long lasting flowers. To assure retention of
these qualities for the longest period of time, do not subject flowers to sources of dry
heat. Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from appliances or devices that emit heat.

They have been develped to withstand the journey to your door and to flourish in nearly any indoor environment. Most orchid plants require no more care than your average house plant.
You do not need a green thumb to care for your orchid. Our plants have been grown to thrive under minimal maintentance conditions. In fact, once in bloom, little is needed to keep an orchid flowering for the rest of it's flowering time.
There are no general rules of thumb for caring for any one orchid. It will depend on the heat and humidity conditions where you display that orchid. Following are some useful tips:
Temperatures of your home/office should be more than adequate to keep your flower healthy, with day time temperature ranging from 65 to 80 degrees and night time temperature ranging from 55 to 70 degrees.
Humidity should be around 70 percent. If your humidity does fall below 70 percent, you may want to mist the plant.
Orchids should be watered every 5 to 12 days depending on time of year. During the warm summer months, frequent waterings are required.
Always make sure that adequate drainage exists. If your plant is in a decorative basket be sure to remove the inner plant container to water.
After the water has stopped dripping it is ok to place it back in the basket.
